Learning Communities are a great way to connect with a supportive network of classmates, teachers and advisers who share a common interest or background.
You can take classes with a small group of students who share your background or interests, enjoy related activities outside the classroom – and get extra support from counselors, mentors and instructors.

Bundle Up With EPS
Learn new ways to succeed in your English classes, with dedicated counselors, in-class
tutoring and friendly instructors. Bundle Up With English Performance Success (EPS) is a one-quarter program for students

First Year Experience
Share your experiences with fellow students who represent the first generation in their
families to come to college. Explore subjects that have real-life importance as you
engage in your communities and gain valuable insights about navigating higher education.

Explore hip-hop music, art and culture, while gaining a better understanding of its impact
on today's society, through classes, conferences and other activities. Make new friends

Guardian Scholars/NextUP
Make the most of your college experience by joining this EOPS program for students who are current or former foster youth. Guardian Scholars offers you access to financial assistance, special activities and
individualized attention from a full-time counselor who can provide academic and personal

Honors Program
Challenge yourself by working on projects and papers that are more rigorous, creative, interdisciplinary
or analytical. Meet a diverse group of fellow honors students who share your commitment

Humanities Mellon Scholars
Build a strong foundation in the Humanities to support the major of your choice. You can
take classes together, earn a certificate in Humanities and get ready for transfer
in two years. The program offers access to paid internships, a faculty mentor, activities

IMPACT AAPI
Celebrate your Southeast Asian or Asian Pacific Islander heritage and how it helps shape who

LEAD (Latinx Empowerment at De Anza)
Develop your leadership skills by engaging in course-related service learning projects while

Men of Color Community (MC2)
Make lasting connections with your fellow students. Get support through academic counseling,

MESA (Math, Engineering and Science Achievement)
Aim for success by joining MESA, a cohort program for historically underrepresented students who
want to transfer in STEM majors. You'll get extra support from a MESA academic counselor
and peer tutors in the classroom, with opportunities to participate in workshops,

Pride
Join a supportive and inclusive community of students identifying as LGBTQ+ across the
gender and sexuality spectrums. Take classes that explore LGBTQ+ topics while building

Connect with fellow students as you study Latinx authors and community issues. Build bridges

Rising Scholars
Find extra support through this program for students who were previously incarcerated or had other experiences with the criminal justice system, or who have been affected
by a family member’s incarceration. Rising Scholars students get individual attention
from an academic counselor, plus access to mentoring, tutoring, activities and resources.
