Data Abstraction and Structures
Course Description
Application of software engineering techniques to the design and development of large programs, including a team project, with an emphasis on data abstraction and structures and associated algorithms: stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, graphs, and hash tables. This course also covers recursion and advanced sorting algorithms.

CIS -022C-61Z: Fully ONLINE. COURSE CONCEPTS ARE TAUGHT MAINLY USING PSEUDOCODE OR SLIDE ANIMATIONS, THOUGH SOME SAMPLE PROGRAMS MAY BE IN C++. PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENTS ARE ACCEPTED IN EITHER C++, JAVA OR PYTHON. This is an online lecture, laboratory class. The lecture and laboratory do not have scheduled meetings and can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
