Clipper START is a pilot program to provide single-ride discounts to low-income riders on AC Transit,
BART, Caltrain, Golden Gate Ferry, San Francisco Muni, Santa Clara Valley Transit (VTA) and more.
- These discounts are available for Bay Area residents age 19-64 who meet certain income standards.
- You must submit an application along with proof of identification, proof of income and other requested information.

Chegg Snack Distribution This Thursday, April 24
Chegg, an education technology company, will be coming to campus this Thursday, April 24, to donate snacks to the Food Pantry. Students can stop by Parking Lot A, beginning at noon, to pick up snacks while supplies last.to pick up snacks while supplies last. No RSVP is needed.

Paralegal Studies Career Fair Is Today, April 22
All students are welcome to attend the Paralegal Studies Career Fair and Networking Event in Conference Rooms A&B, today – Tuesday, April 22 – from 4-7 p.m. The event is tailored to those seeking a career in the legal field, especially paralegal studies, administration of justice, humanities and business
students.
Law firm administrators, hiring managers, government agencies and recruiting agencies will be present. Representatives from Lincoln Law School and legal professional associations will also be available to answer questions and provide guidance on obtaining a position in law. Students will also have an opportunity to connect with employers from local, national and international law firms, as well as legal associations and recruiters
It is highly recommended to bring your resume and to dress professionally. Light refreshments will be served. Please contact Kevin Lee at leekevin2@deanza.edu if you have questions.
Second Chance Month
The Rising Scholars program is hosting several upcoming events in connection with Second Chance Month, a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness of the challenges faced by
formerly incarcerated individuals. Rising Scholars is committed to providing education, support and community for students affected by the justice system.
- Pieces of Me: A Journey in Color and Story – tomorrow (Wednesday, April 23), 1-3 p.m., in L-21, the Artistic Expression Village Center. You can engage in self-expression, reflection and community through art. You'll explore your experiences, reflect on barriers and goals and envision your future with hope.
- Breaking Barriers: Rewriting the Narrative on Incarceration, Innovation and Social Impact – next Monday, April 28, noon-1:30 p.m., in L-73, the Social Sciences and Humanities Village Center. Guest speaker Jodi Anderson Jr., co-Founder of Rézme, will discuss the intersection of incarceration, entrepreneurship and social impact.
Get Ready for the Spring Career Fair
The Spring Career Fair is Wednesday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Sunken Garden. YYou can connect directly with a diverse range of employers.
You can also prepare for the event by attending a series of workshops in the coming weeks. Please note that students do not have to attend a workshop in order to attend the career fair. Students can also attend as many of the workshops as they would like.

- LinkedIn: Developing Your Profile – next Wednesday, April 23, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., in the Social Sciences and Humanities Village center – with guest Sharadon Smith from NovaWorks.
- Career Glow-Up: Stand Out with Professionalism and Branding – Monday, April 28, from 11 a.m.-noon – with guest Sheryl Bernardo. Location to be announced.
- Networking with Professionals – Tuesday, April 29, from 11 a.m.-noon – with guest Doron Noyman from KeyPoint Credit Union. Location to be announced.

Muslim Heritage Month
Celebrate Muslim Heritage Month with the Office of Equity, the Muslim Student Association and De Anza Student Government at several events this month in Conference Rooms A&B!

Spring Club Day Is This Thursday, April 24
The Inter Club Council (ICC) is hosting winter Club Day this Thursday, April 24, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Main Quad. Over 90 student clubs and organizations will be tabling at the event. Please contact the ICC chair of programs at ICCPrograms@deanza.edu if you have any questions.
Andrew Lam at Foothill College This Thursday, April 24
Andrew Lam, journalist and author of “Stories From the Edge of the Sea,” will be giving a book talk at Foothill College, in Room 5015, this Thursday, April 14, from noon-1 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided. You can also attend on

The event is sponsored by the Foothill College English Department, Equity Office and Art of Community.
This Saturday
Spring Open House
De Anza will hold a Spring Open House this Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The open house is an opportunity for prospective students, family members and community residents to learn about all the amazing programs and facilities that make De Anza the college
that's always Tops in Transfer – and Tops in Career Training, too.
Graduating high school seniors can also learn about De Anza's six Villages – supportive communities where students can find new friends and resources that are relevant to their major or area of interest. There will also be campus tours, Planetarium shows, a parent information session and food trucks. Visit deanza.edu/open-house to learn more.
Taste of History
The California History Center’s special fundraising event, A Taste of History, is also this Saturday, April 26, from 4-6:30 p.m. Attendees can learn about the role of local history through archival materials and oral history projects supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Tom Izu, executive director emeritus of the California History Center, will lead a panel discussion about the unique and humane nature of archives and libraries as both physical and social spaces. Panelists will include student Uriel Barrón-Bryant, community member Margaret Butcher and Asian American and Asian Studies chair Mae Lee.
The event will also include wine tasting from local producers and a performance of jazz standards by Vocal Flight, a student acapella group. Attendees can also view the exhibit, “Belonging and Identity,” which combines photos from Lisa Teng’s photography students and art from Jamie Pelusi’s Pride Center students.
Tickets are on sale now and cost $95 per person. All proceeds support student multimedia, oral history and archival projects that preserve and share our local history. If you can’t attend the event, you can also donate online.

Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Win Championship
Coach Danielle Altman led the men’s Swimming and Diving team to a Coast Conference championship this past weekend. The team will continue to prepare for the 3C2A championships, which will take place in Santa Rosa from May 2-4.
