Choosing the Right Language Arts Assessment
Our placement process is designed to help you find the courses that are right for you, based on your circumstances and goals. It's a key step for any student interested in taking English (EWRT) or English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at De Anza College.
Demonstrating English Proficiency
You must show that you have a minimum level of English ability before you can take transfer-level English courses at De Anza. There are two ways to do that.
- Provide transcript information that shows you completed at least grades 9-11 in a U.S. high school
- Take the assessment for students who speak English as a Second Language
