Adventure in Grand Teton National Park

Join the De Anza College Outdoor Club: Aug 14-31, 2024

Participants can choose to stay for a shorter, longer, or much longer trip, potentially visiting up to ten national parks in three weeks, depending on the driving route they take.

Options include:

  • Accommodation: camp or cabin
  • Dining: cook-out, cafeteria, or restaurant
  • Activities: kayaking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, white-water rafting, fishing, backpacking, swimming, visiting art galleries, attending musical performances, and even a rodeo.

Star gazing will be exceptional, with many more stars visible than in the city. For many, this will be the first time they see the Milky Way or a meteor shower. Yellowstone National Park, home to the Old Faithful geyser with 145-foot-high eruptions, is next to Grand Teton National Park, and most participants make a visit there.

The club provides all the gear needed to paddle a kayak or canoe, with lessons provided for those with no paddling experience. We plan both short and long paddling excursions to lakes and rivers.

AlimHighlights of ISP Students

Alim Kham, an international student from Kyrgyzstan, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the bronze medal at the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association (NCTA) tournament hosted by the UC Berkeley Martial Art Program.

Alim proudly represents De Anza College on a national stage, standing out as the sole community college participant among teams from Ivy League and other prestigious institutions.
